Ancestry and Family History Search —

Genealogy Meets SEO and Digital Marketing

Family history, genealogy, ancestor search, historical research, family search, Familien Forschung, Geneologie, Turning the Hearts of the Children: Whatever you want to call it, my wife Marnie and I have been scouring family records, archives, talking to relatives to find out more about our roots. We’ve written historical novels, given presentations at international genealogy conferences, travelled the world doing research, trying to find that one link, that simple yet complex connection to the past. If you’re on this family research page, you’ve probably felt the same yearning to find your roots, to connect, to discover who you are by learning who your ancestors were.

Combining Professional Marketing, Web Construction and SEO with Family History Research

One day, I was gathering together several of my family’s genealogy websites. They are family research “billboards” that I’d built in the 1990s. My concept of “If you build it, they will find you,” was the subject of my presentation at an international genealogy conference in Salt Lake City. The idea: Use web sites like focused, searchable billboards. Rather than having a website that says “My Family” or “My Genealogy Tree” (of which there are thousands), have tightly-focused name- and location-based family search websites. These web pages not only show your research, but your family history “missing links”.

Then, do search engine optimization to make your personal family historical website(s) even more “findable” and search engine friendly. Your genealogy sites should be examples of local search optimization!

Why could Marnie and I do this? For years, we’ve been helping small- and medium-sized businesses carve out their niche through targeted, on-line marketing, social media, SEO and website building. At our business website, IdeaMarketers.com, we’ve helped folks discover, create and deliver their God-given, inspired messages. Why not use the same SEO, web content and on-line marketing concepts to help people find their relatives and people they want to be connected to? So this concept, AncestryFamilySearch.com, was born.

How AncestryFamilySearch.com Helps People Find Relatives

Marnie and I build and host people’s family history / genealogy websites, all linked off of this main ancestor search website. It’s becoming a repository of genealogy websites. Our contact information is at the bottom of this page or at our IdeaMarketers.com business website. Think of each family history site as a giant billboard on the internet family search superhighway. For example, if we build a site for you, it is optimized for your family name(s) and the location(s) your family lived in. Then, when someone searches for that information, your website appears in the search results. You decide if you want to connect and share information, or if you just want to show your research.

The links below are examples of some of the genealogy, family history and ancestry search and research web pages we’ve created.
